Oh That

What is it?

The "Oh, That!" pattern involves using small edits and edit comments to make clear incremental changes in a page. This helps others to know what is happening to the wiki.

Usage

On a wiki with revision history and revision comments, change the page using a succession of small, focused edits with one comment per edit.

Pertinent comments can be valuable.  I don't like to stifle activity with 'rules' about comments.  However, I do like the idea of having one pertinent comment from either the revising editor or an editor one level above who can concisely explain the revision.  Not the place for insincere 'atta boys'; set up a message board instead.
